The Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra is excited to announce its 2025 concerto competition!

SYSO will hold its concerto competition on Sunday October 12, 2025. This competition is open to violin, viola and cello players aged 8-17 in the Chicago southland area. Competitors must choose from a list of predetermined repertoire, and supply their own accompanist.
The winner of the competition will win a $500 prize, and must be available May 4th to perform their winning selection with SYSO at their May 4th concert, which will take place at 4PM at Crete-Monee High School.
When: Sunday October 12, 2025 1-5 PM
Where: The competition will be held at Flossmoor Community Church (2218 Hutchinson Road, Flossmoor IL)
Who: This competition is open to ALL violin, viola and cello players aged 8-17 in the Chicago southland area.
Cost: Applicants must submit a $25 payment via PayPal or Zelle (thesyso@gmail.com) to be entered.

Applicants may only perform listed selections for their instrument, no exceptions.
Applicants must perform with accompaniment
